Bio4HUMAN’s first thematic webinar

Bio4HUMAN is launching its first thematic webinar on September 24, 2024!

Our first thematic webinar will center on the results collected through our Humanitarian Needs Assessment Report. The report was led by People in Need and with heavy collaboration from Polish Humanitarian Action

The Humanitarian Needs Assessment Report compiles both qualitative and quantitative data collected from humanitarian stakeholders who responded to our surveys. Its findings focus on the types of waste present in humanitarian settings, solid waste management (SWM) standards and sustainable models, and the current state of SWM in these settings. The report also presents main challenges related to SWM in humanitarian settings and opportunities, including the potential use of bio-based solutions which identification is the ultimate goal of our project.

As the report provided us with valuable information regarding the main needs of the humanitarian sector when tackling the solid waste management crisis, this webinar will aim to facilitate knowledge exchange among humanitarian and bio-based stakeholders.

The purpose is to introduce the bio-based stakeholders into humanitarian settings and the more concrete area of solid waste management challenge. The political and societal willingness to deal with this challenge may constitute new opportunities for the broadly understood bio-based sector.

There will be time to initially discuss the potential bio-based solutions applicable in humanitarian settings in the context of the solid waste management challenge. At the end of this webinar, the bio-based sector will be equipped with more tools to navigate the landscape of the humanitarian sector as one of its potential areas of interest.
